PORT OF AUCKLAND EXPERIENCE
During Christie's time at the port she achieved several rewarding initiatives and was pivotal in the transformation of the ports culture. In her role of Head of Employee Experience, Christie worked closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Chief Operating Officer, Head of Stevedoring and Kaiārahi to drive meaningful and lasting change. Here are some of the noteworthy initiatives that Christie and the Employee Experience team drove: - Supporting and leading Container Terminals initiatives that took operations from good to great. - Comprehensive training & coaching of five new Kaiārihi who lead 350+ Stevedores, featuring High Performance Coaching. - Facilitation and management of productivity improvement initiatives and workshops. - Building a strong connection and avenue for the frontline and management to have more open and effective communication. - Upskilling employees to grow and take ownership of initiatives. - Enhancing key touch points in the ‘Moments that Matter’ within the employee lifecycle. Introduced improved and targeted elearning solutions for port users, pilots and operations. - Provided coaching and mentoring, working closely with the Operational Training Team. - Managing and overseeing the ports org-wide Employee Engagement survey, and subsequent action plans supporting our leaders. - Overseeing end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition process as the business focussed on operational growth and attracting best-in-class leaders in Auckland’s tight labour market. - Leading the introduction of a new contemporary remuneration programme, developing and deploying new Senior Leader employment agreements and a bonus scheme that aligns with driving high performance commercial and safety outcomes. - Reviewing and enhancing the ports Employee Benefits approach. - Implementing an org-wide Performance Framework consisting of Mahere Mahi (Objective Setting) and Professional Development toolkit. - Contributing to the ports new Leadership Framework including the introduction of a Mentor Pilot Programme, LSI Human Synergistics Accreditation and Senior Leader rollout, Leadership Programme Business Case and strengthening our Global Women partnership. - Implementing a new Reward and Recognition Programme, leading the creation of the ports ‘Ka Pai’ Awards Programme. - Role modelling safety leadership, conducting monthly safety meetings, port walks and safety observations and working with the Safety & Wellbeing team on key initiatives. - Leading the People, Culture and Communications People Data Dashboard creation, working collaboratively with the ports Digital team to create live and on demand people data, as well as providing end of month CEO and board reporting.
